Intel unveiled its 14th-generation desktop processor with boost frequencies of 6GHz out of the box for its flagship Core i9-14900K. The series includes six new unlocked desktop processors with up to 24 cores and 32 threads.
The flagship Core i9 processor has 24 cores including 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores. It also has 32 threads and up to 6 GHz of frequency out of the box. Intel Core i7 processor now has 20 cores including 12 efficiency and eight performance cores. It has a max turbo frequency of up to 5.6 GHz. The Intel Core i5 has 6 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores. It has 20 threads and up to 5.3 GHz in performance core.
The 14th Gen Intel Core processors provide a 23% gaming performance boost compared to competition processors. Intel Application Optimization offers better application threading to offer improved gaming. These processors support Wi-Fi 6/6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 along with upcoming Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless technologies. There is also support for Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 5 providing super-fast wired connectivity.
Intel confirms that these processors remain compatible with Intel 600 and 700 series chipsets. So, users can easily upgrade to the latest processors.
