OxygenOS 14

OnePlus has officially unveiled OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14. The company has now started rolling out the OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 1 for the OnePlus 11 5G in India and North America. Initially, the stable update will be available for OnePlus 11 5G and later for other devices.

OxygenOS 14 comes with several improvements, new features, and many small tweaks. In this article, I will tell you some of the key features of OxygenOs 14.

OxygenOS 14 features

Here are the key features of OxygenOS 14:

1. Aquamorphic design 2.0

OxygenOS 14 comes with the same design as OxygenOS 13, but with several improvements to make the user experience better. The experience is smoother and more fluid. You will enjoy new smoother animations, new ringtones, and sound options. It will show a live gradient on the Lock Screen to represent current battery levels while the phone is charging. It also uses an improved color-matching technology to sync the color of the UI with the colors of your phone’s wallpapers.

2. Fluid Cloud

Fluid Cloud is a notable feature of Aquamorphic Design 2.0. It brings a new way to interact with information based on the Aquamorphic Design philosophy. The Fluid Cloud shows notifications within bubbles, capsules, and panels. Third-party apps can also use it to show real-time notifications with a live status.

3. The Trinity Engine

OnePlus has developed Trinity Engine to improve overall performance. The technology is the collection of CPU Vitalisation, RAM Vitalisation, ROM Vitalisation, Hyper Boost, Hyper Touch and Hyper Rendering. Let’s discuss these technologies.

4. Security Centre

The Security Centre is the single place for managing the security and privacy of the phone. It uses Device Security Engine 3.0 backed by a layer of security to protect the device against malware. It also alerts you about potential security risks. OxygenOS 14 also uses chip-level security encryption technology called Strong Box to ensure third-party use of passwords is protected.

5. File Dock

File Dock is a handy tool to make it easy to organize and share information on your device. It is basically a digital collection of things you find interesting or useful. On any app, you just need to long-press to select content. The data saved on File Dock will be available across other devices like phones, tablets, and PCs too.

6. Auto Pixelate 2.0

OnePlus has also upgraded its Auto Pixelate technology in the OxygenOS 14. It can now automatically pixellate more sensitive information in photos and screenshots. The sensitive information could be contact details, numerical strings, vehicle license plates, credit card details, and more. This makes it easier to share photos on social media without the risk of sharing sensitive information.

7. Multi-screen Connect 2.0

Multi-screen Connect has also been improved. It lets you connect OnePlus phones and tablets to share items and work across devices. The feature also quickly auto-connects to previously-paired devices.

8. Notes 2.0

The Notes app also gets several improvements. It gets the option to change background color, font color, font size, font, and more. Users can also add images to the note. It also offers features like underline, strikethrough, split lines, and more. It is also easy to find content across notes.

9. Smart Cutout

Smart Cutout is a feature that we have already seen in iOS. This feature lets you tap and hold on the subject in a photo to generate a cut-out image using AI background removal. Then you can share the cut-out in different apps. The feature is capable of identifying 3 subjects at a time.
