Xiaomi today launched its latest budget 5G smartphone Redmi 12 5G in India. The phone features a 6.79-inch FHD+ 90Hz LCD display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 4nm SoC, up to 8GB RAM, up to 256GB storage, 50+2 MP rear camera, 8 MP selfie camera, and 5000mAh battery. The phone starts at Rs. 11999.
Redmi 12 5G sports a 6.79-inch FHD+ LCD display with up to 90Hz adaptive refresh rate. The display panel has 550 nits peak brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13.
It packs Octa Core Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 4nm SoC and Adreno 613 GPU. The phone comes in three models: 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB. The phone also supports up to 8GB of virtual RAM. The company has used LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Internal storage is further expandable up to 1TB with a microSD card.
It has a 50 megapixels primary camera along with 2 megapixels depth camera. For selfies, It has 8 megapixels selfie camera.
There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an Infrared sensor. Connectivity options include 5G SA / NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C.
Redmi 12 5G packs a 5000 mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging.
Redmi 12 5G comes in Moonstone Sliver, Pastel Blue, and Jade Black colors. It measures 168.6×76.28×8.17mm and weighs 199g. The phone also has IP53 ratings for dust and splash resistance.
