The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) today launched a new mobile app ‘DMRC Travel’ mobile app for generating mobile QR tickets. The app was launched by Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC, at Metro Bhawan.
Passengers can use the app to get metro tickets and save valuable time during their commute.
Download the ‘DMRC Travel’ app on your phone and create an account. You can log in using Gmail or Facebook accounts. After successful login, tap the ‘Book Ticket’ option. Then tap ‘Book Ticket’ after entering Source and destination stations. It will show the price of each ticket. Select the Number of Tickets and Proceed to the Booking. You can then make payment using a debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.
After successful payment, you will receive a mobile QR ticket. Use the QR ticket at the AFC gate for entry and exit during your journey.
DMRC Travel app is being launched for Android and will soon be released for iOS. The app also lets users view transaction history, recharge DMRC smart cards, view route information from any source station to a designation, and rebook tickets. Passengers are encouraged to download the app for traveling through Delhi Metro.
As per the data available, around 70 percent of DMRC commuters use smart cards for their reveal. DMRC wants to phase out tokens, so it is committed to promoting the usage of QR code-based tickets.
