Xiaomi has officially introduced its latest budget 5G smartphone Redmi Note 12R in China. The phone features 6.79-inch Full HD+ 90Hz display, Snapdragon 4 Gen, up to 8GB RAM, 50+2 MP rear camera, 5 MP selfie camera, and 5000 mAh battery.
Redmi Note 12R features a 6.79-inch FHD+ LCD display with 90Hz refresh rate. There’s a hole punch at the top center of the display for the selfie camera. The phone runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box.
It packs Octa Core Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 6nm processor with Adreno 613 GPU. The phone comes in four variants: 4+128GB, 6+128GB, 8+128GB, and 8+256GB. Internal storage is further expandable up to 1TB.
The rear camera setup includes 50 megapixels primary camera and 2 megapixels depth camera. For selfies, Redmi 12R has 5 megapixel front-facing camera.
Redmi 12R has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an Infrared Sensor. Connectivity options include 5G SA / NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C. The phone packs a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. Xiaomi offers a 22.5W charger in the box.
The phone has a glass back. It measures 168.6×76.28×8.17mm and weighs 199g. Redmi 12R will be sold in Midnight black, Space Blue, and Gradient color.
