Nokia XR21 rugged 5G smartphone with 120Hz display, military-grade durability announced

HMD Global has announced its new rugged smartphone Nokia XR21. The phone comes with a sleek casing that is MIL-STD-810H military standard certified and has an IP69K rating to be drop-proof, dust-proof, waterproof, and life-proof. The phone also has two programmable buttons to make the most frequent tasks more accessible.

Nokia XR21 features a 6.49-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 550 nits brightness. The display also has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. You can also use the display with wet hands or with gloves.

The phone packs Octa Core Snapdragon 695 8nm processor and Adreno 619L GPU. It also has 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. The phone runs Android 12 and promises three years of software upgrades and four years of security updates.

It has a dual camera setup with 64 megapixels primary camera and 8 megapixels ultra-wide camera. The phone also has 16 megapixels selfie camera. It also has stereo speakers and OZO spatial audio.

Nokia XR21 also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ax (2.4GHz + 5GHz) 2×2 MiMo, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ GLONASS/ Beidou/ QZSS/NavIC and USB Type-C. The phone packs a 4800mAh battery with 33W wired charging.

Nokia XR21 comes in Midnight Black and Pine Green colors. The phone measures 168.0×78.58×10.45 mm and 231g.
