Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has just launched its latest high-end smartphone Redmi K50i in India. The phone comes with a 6.6-inch 144Hz display, Dimensity 8100 SoC, up to 8GB RAM, 64+8+2 MP rear camera, 16 MP selfie camera, and 5080mAh battery. The phone starts at Rs. 25999.
Redmi K50i features a 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 144Hz 7-step variable refresh rate. The display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. It also boasts 650 nits peak brightness, 10-bit color depth, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and DC dimming. There is also Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection to protect the display from scratches. Xiaomi also claims that Redmi K50i is the first LCD mobile phone to be certified with DisplayMate A+ ratings.
The phone runs MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box. The company promises 2 years of software updates and 3 years of security updates.
It packs MediaTek Dimensity 8100 5nm SoC with Mali-G610 6-core GPU. The phone comes in two variants: 6+128GB and 8+256GB. It uses LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
The rear camera setup of the Redmi K50i includes 64 megapixels primary camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide camera, and 2 megapixels macro camera. The camera can record 4K 30 fps videos. It also has 16 megapixels selfie camera.
The phone has stereo speakers set up and supports Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and an IR sensor. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, Wi-Fi 6 (2.4 + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, Beidou, GPS (L1+L5), GLONASS, QZSS (L1+L5), and NFC.
It packs a 5080mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. The phone can be charged up to 50% in 15 minutes and 100% in 46 minutes. Although the phone supports 67W fast charging, it comes only with 27W PD charger in the box. So, you will have to purchase the 67W charger separately if you want.
Redmi K50i comes in Phantom Blue, Stealth Black and Quick Silver colors. It measures 163.64×74.29×8.87mm and weighs 200 grams. The phone is also IP53 rated for Splash resistance.
