Asus has just introduced its latest flagship phone Asus Zenfone 9 at an online event. The phone has a 5.9-inch Full HD+ OLED display, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, up to 16GB of RAM, 50+12 MP dual camera, 12 MP selfie camera, and 4300mAh battery.
Asus ZenFone 9 features a 5.9-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh and HDR 10+ support. The display has up to 800 nits peak brightness and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It also has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The phone runs ASUS ZenUI 9 based on Android 12 out of the box. The company also promises 2 years of OS updates and security patches.
The phone packs 3.2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and Adreno next-gen GPU. It comes in three models: 8+128GB, 8+256GB, and 116+256GB. The phone has a 1727.17mm² vapor chamber cooling with a 230% larger area compared to its predecessor.
The rear camera setup of the Asus ZenFone 9 includes 50 megapixels primary camera with six-axis gimbal stabilization and 12 megapixels ultra-wide camera with a macro option. The company claims that the 6-axis hybrid gimbal stabilizer is three times as effective as regular OIS. It can also record 8k video recordings. The phone also has 12 megapixels selfie camera with autofocus.
The phone includes stereo speakers and a Qualcomm Aqstic amp. It also has Dirac audio. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Connectivity options of Asus ZenFone 9 include 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, Galileo(E1+E5a), QZSS(L1+L5), NavIC(L5), USB Type-C, and NFC. It packs a 4300mAh battery with 30W fast charging, QC 4.0, and PD.
The dimensions of the phone measure 146.58×68.17×9.45 and it weighs 169g. ASUS Zenfone 9 comes in Midnight Black, Starry Blue, Sunset Red, and Moonlight White colors. The phone has aluminum frame with polymer back. It is also IP68 dust and water resistant.
The phone starts at $699 in the US and 799 Euros in Europe. The phone will also be launched in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, and parts of South America in the coming months.
