Samsung announces Exynos 1280 chipset

Samsung has officially announced its new Exynos 1280 chipset. This chipset powered its recent Galaxy A series smartphones including Galaxy A33, Galaxy A53, and Galaxy M33.

Exynos 1280 is built on a 5 nm EUV process. It includes an octa-core processor where two performance cores are clocked at 2.4GHz and 5 efficiency cores run at 2.0GHz. The Chipset includes Arm Mali-G68 to handle graphics performance. It supports LPDDR4x RAM and UFS v2.2 storage.

The chipset can handle FHD+ displays with up to a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports up to 108 megapixels camera and up to three 16 megapixels cameras. It supports EIS and 4K recording at 30fps. Samsung has also included multi-frame image processing for clearer images.

Exynos 1280 supports both sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G connectivity. It also supports dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac MIMO, Bluetooth 5.2, and Quad-constellation multi-signal for L1 and L5 GNSS positioning.
