iPhone 13 Could Feature “Always On” Display

iPhone always-on display

Apple added an always-on display in Apple Watch Series 5 back in 2019 but it has yet to add it to iPhone. Now a new report from EverythingApplePro claims that the Always-on Display could arrive in iPhone in 2021.

The report claims that iPhone 12 could finally feature an Always-on Display along with a 120Hz refresh rate. This Always-on display could deliver information such as the battery, clock, notifications, and some more information.

Always-on Display has been on Android phones for more than 10 years. Nokia introduced an “always-on” screen feature back in 2009. After that, this was included by other Android manufacturers including Huawei, Motorola, Samsung, Google, OnePlus, and others.

Always-on Display keeps showing some notable information without needing to unlock the phone. The only downside is the extra battery consumption. However, AMOLED displays can reduce the battery impact because they activate only those pixels that are needed.
