Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi 9 at an event in China. Thanks to leaks, we already knew a lot about the phone.
The Mi 9 comes with glass back with gradient color options. The back pane uses nano-level laser engraving holographic technology and dual layer nano coating. So, it offers unique colors when the light is reflected. Back glass panel also has Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Along with regular Mi 9 model, there is also a Mi 9 Transparent edition with transparent back design. It has water drop notch for selfie camera.
Xiaomi Mi 9 comes with a 6.39-inch (1080 × 2280 pixels) Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie. The phone packs Octa-Core Snapdragon 855 processor with Adreno 640 GPU. It comes in 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB storage options. The transparent edition offers 12GB RAM with 256GB storage options.
The phone has a camera on the back that includes 48 megapixels primary Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.75 aperture, 12 megapixels Samsung S5K3M5, a lens with f/2.2 aperture, 2x lossless zoom, and 16 megapixels ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture. The setup also features LED flash, Laser Autofocus, PDAF, and CAF. It also has closed-loop Voice Coil Motor (VCM) for improved auto-focusing. The phone also scores 107 points on DxOMark to be at third among all available phones It also has 20 megapixels front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Xiaomi Mi 9 also features an fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO ), Bluetooth 5, Dual-frequency (L1+L5) GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, and USB Type-C.
