First foldable phone is finally here

FlexPai

We have been talking about foldable phones for long. Samsung has been rumored to be working on the same and we also saw several leaks in past. Lenovo also demonstrated a prototype but never released a commercial device. Now a less known company Rouyu Technology has released the first commercial foldable smartphone FlexPai.

FlexPai features a 7.8-inch display and becomes a 4-inch display after folding it. When it is folded, you can opt for dual-screen mode and each side will show different content. This foldable phone also doesn’t fold flat. The interface of primary and secondary screens can mutually interact with each other or independently use different interfaces without interfering with one another.

Folded phone shows three different displays including the one on the spine of the device. So, it ends up being bulky when folded. This screen at the edge can be used to get notifications, manage calls, messages, and other notices. It can also be folded at different angles.

Rouyu says the FlexPai can withstand more than 200,000 open-and-shut movements. It means, it can be used for many years.

The phone uses Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 chipset. It has a dual camera with 20 megapixels telephoto lens and a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens. It uses the company’s own Ro-Charge technology, which delivers a charging speed increase of 40%. Other features include MicroSD, fingerprint ID, USB-C charging, and stereo speakers.

FlexPai Price

Pre-orders of the phone are open starting October 31st and shipping will start in December.

We don’t expect this phone to become a bestseller and sell millions of units. But it really impresses millions. The phone will get tough competition from Samsung, LG, and Huawei.[appbox steam ]
