Facebook Messenger is testing self-destructing conversations

Secret Conversations Messenger

Facebook Messenger’s head David Marcus announced that company is testing a new feature that lets you send self-destructing messages on Messenger. These messages will disappear from your conversation after the specified time.

Facebook calls this “secret conversation”. It promises to encrypt messages end-to-end from both the sender and the recipient. The sender can set a time for how long they want the messages to exist between the two persons. After this time, the message will disappear.

This will be available as an optional setting for conversations. It can be used if you are sharing highly sensitive information such as passwords, Social Security Number or something similar.

As of now, company is testing this feature with fewer number of users to see how people are using it. This feature will be available to all Facebook users this summer.
