Facebook Introduces Mobile Ad Network

At F8 Developers Conference, Facebook Unveiled its new mobile ad network. This ad network is called ‘Audience Network.’ This ad network makes it easier for mobile developers to pick suitable ad formats, do ad targeting, handle measurement and payment.

With this new ad network, advertisers can extend their campaigns beyond Facebook to other mobile apps. Facebook Audience Network comes with same powerful features which are available to Facebook ads. Users can same targeting as in Facebook ads.

These ads come in three formats: Standard banners, Interstitials and native ad units.

Facebook first tested mobile ad network back in 2012 but paused later to focus on native ads. With this new service, Facebook is now moving its business work beyond its own properties. This ad network will let it grow revenue with ads on other apps.

Developers can simply sign-up for Facebook Audience Network. It will rollout over coming months.

With this ad network, Facebook will be competing with other ad networks like Twitter’s MoPub and Google AdMob. It will be interesting to see how it will impact on other ad networks.
