Facebook Has Added LinkedIn Like Professional Skills Section to User Profiles

facebook hacking

After adopting few features from Twitter, now Facebook is working on a new feature taken from LinkedIn. According to Sociobits, Facebook has quietly added a new professional skills section to users profile. This is similar to the skills section found in LinkedIn.

This section has been added in the “Work and Education” section of user profile. If you want to add skills to your profile, go to your profile, edit about section and add it under “Work and Education” section.

When you are filling the skills, you will link your profile to a specific interest pages. This will help other users to find your profile based on your skills. Employers can also find profiles based on skills by using graph search.

LinkedIn has skills feature, but you cannot search people by skills. So, we cannot say that Facebook has copied same feature. A less known job and work website Skillpages has similar kind of feature where people can tag skills to their profile. And other people can find people based on their skills.

We also know that Facebook is interested in coming into job market. Almost a year ago, it has partnered with few recruiting companies like BranchOut, JobVite, and Monsters.com. Today’s move makes it clear that Facebook is slowly coming to this market.

Currently, this feature is not available for all user profiles. And there is no official confirmation. it is unclear when the feature will be officially available. We have tried to reach Facebook and waiting for their response.
