In the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) Conference, Sony has revealed the details of its next generation gaming console PlayStation 4. The device was announced back in February this year. At that time, company didn’t revealed much details about the device.
PlayStation 4 has X86 processor with enhanced 1.84 TFLOPS PC GPU, AMD RadeonTM Graphics Core Next engine and 8GB GDDR5 RAM. It also has dual shock controller that includes touchpad, headphone jack and share button. With share buttons, gamers can share gameplay clips with friends. PS4 has a aways-on video compression to compress video clips before sharing. You friends can also watch you while playing games with these buttons. It also has a remote play feature that allows remote friend to help you to finish game from remote location.
Jack Tretton, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America also announced that the company would not try to restrict used game sales on this gaming device. He also confirmed that PS4 would not require a persistent online connection.
“PlayStation 4 disc-based games don’t need to be connected online to play or any type of authentication,” said Tretton. “If you enjoy playing single-player games offline, PS4 won’t require to you check in online period and it won’t stop working if you haven’t authenticated in 24 hours.”
Sony has also counted several gaming titles that will be available for PlayStation 4.
PS4 will cost only $399 that is $100 lesser than recently announced Xbox One.
