A few days back, The iBall announced its Compbook series of laptops with different models at different prices. I got the chance to use iBall Excelance laptop. It comes with entry-level hardware specifications, compact small design, and good battery. In this article, I will be talking about the overall performance of this laptop.
The iBall Excelance Compbook laptop review
Design and build
This is a thin and compact laptop. So, it is good for frequent travelers. The weight of this laptop is also just 1.09 KG which makes it light enough to be your companion on trips and journey. It has no DVD drive and that is fine enough. I don’t think anyone wish to have that.
At top side, you see iBall branding and textures. I personally like this textured top panel and blue color of it.
At the right side, it has a microSD card slot, USB port and a 3.5 mm audio jack. At the left side, it has a USB port, HDMI port, and port for the charger. It has a compact keyboard and touchpad as the primary input device. Just above the keyboard, you see a microphone and 4 indicator lights. There is also a VGA camera for video calls.
Laptop’s hinge which connects display with the motherboard panel is fine You cannot also extend the display after a limit, but this is nothing like a drawback. I feel no sense in getting the hinge of giving 180degree rotation.
At the front side of bottom panel, you see dual speakers which are satisfactory. Considering the size, speakers are loud.
Overall I am satisfied with the build and design of the laptop. At this price, you are getting vey good build which is solid and feels strong.
Display and Multimedia experience
The iBall Excelance comes with an 11.6 inch IPS LCD HD display which is good for a laptop of this price range. The screen is reflective, so you may not get good experience it in outdoor conditions properly. In this case, use it on full display brightness. But you will face no issue while working on it in indoor conditions.
Viewing angles are also fine. So, many people can enjoy videos and movies without any issue. Speakers perform good. These are loud enough to allow you enjoy movies and videos without any external speaker.
Performance
As the laptop is an entry level windows PC, you should not expect high-end performance. But, I was impressed with its overall performance considering the usability and price segment. It is powered by a 1.83 GHz Quad-core Intel Atom processor with 2 GB of RAM. At this price, you cannot expect better configuration than this. It offers smooth multi-tasking. But, don’t expect it to run heavy games.

This laptop is good for those who need an affordable windows PC which can perform their business related tasks and allow them browser web. listen to music and play basic games. This laptop is good for these things.
If you are a gamer, don’t expect too much. But Intel HD graphics is good enough to handle low-end games. So, kids can still enjoy gaming in this.
Storage
It comes with 32 GB internal storage from which around 22 GB is available for users. In case you think that the storage is not enough, you can expand storage up to 64 GB by adding a microSD card. You have this slot at the right side. If you still need storage, you can always use external Hard disks.
Connectivity
You get various connectivity options in this laptop. These include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI and USB. You have two USB ports. So, connectivity options are fine. We generally use these connectivity mediums in our daily life. All these connectivity options are also performing well.
Keyboard and Trackpad
Keyboard and trackpad of this laptop are also of good quality. As a blogger, I type a lot and it was not offering that kind of typing experience I look for. But it is fine enough for daily usage. The trackpad is good and supports various functions and gestures for quick works. You can zoom in and zoom out your screen with two fingers. You can scroll down and up a page with two finger scrolling. Three-finger swipe also work.
Software
The best thing about this laptop is that it comes with Windows 10 out of the box. So, you already get genuine windows with lifetime updates. I don’t think I should explain the software experience here. As the performance is fine, you will face no issue in software experience.
Battery
It is packed with the large 10000mAh battery which performs well. You get around 8 hours of usage with tasks like word processing, web browsing, videos, and chatting. I was satisfied with this battery backup as it is better than other entry level Windows laptops. If you watch movies continuously, you will see around 5.5 hours of battery life.
Final Words
The iBall Excelance is an excellent laptop for those who need a compact and portable laptop. It is powerful enough to perform your daily tasks and is portable to be your companion. The battery is also good, so you can carry it with you on business trips and personal trips. Only storage could be the problem for few but you can always expand the storage and use external storage solutions.
