A few days back, we reported that Micromax is working on a budget smartphone with Android Oreo Go edition and could come by the end of January. Now, the company has confirmed that it will launch Micromax Bharat Go Soon and it will be the first phone in India with Android Oreo (Go Edition).
Micromax, said, “Taking its mission of connecting the unconnected ahead, and providing the best in class mobility devices, Micromax will introduce BHARAT GO to deliver an optimised Android experience as an entry-level smartphone to millions of Indian consumers.”
Micromax didn’t confirm the specs or price of this phone. Earlier reports claimed the price to be less than Rs. 2000 and we are also hoping the same. The phone is expected to become official around January 26. So, wait few more days to know how this budget Android Oreo Go phone will look like.
Google launched Android Oreo Go for budget phones offering low specs. The company aims to replace budget phones with affordable smartphones that do not suck.
Qualcomm and MediaTek have already announced that they are optimizing their chipset for Android Oreo (Go Edition). So, the performance of budget phones with Android Oreo Go is expected to be good.
Google already released Oreo Go optimized apps that take less space and consume less mobile data to offer the better experience on a budget phone. Other developers are also expected to follow soon.
While we only have information about Micromax’s smartphone with Oreo Go, other Indian smartphone companies are also working with Google for Oreo Go based smartphone. We should get more information about other brands soon.
