Huawei Mate 10 vs Mate 10 Pro

Huawei has finally upgraded its Mate series and added three new smartphones. Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro are the two primary phones along with Porsche Design Huawei Mate 10 as a special edition. So, basically, we have two new phones. If you are wondering what to consider, here is the detailed comparison of both phones to point out primary differences.

The main differences between the two phones is in screen size and shape. Internals are almost similar to offer same performance.

In terms of design, both phones have similar glass panels with aluminum rim. These phones are the best-designed phones from the Huawei ever. Mate 10 Pro follows the narrow bezel trend and looks similar to Galaxy S8 or any other phone offering fullview display. The regular Mate 10 has traditional look with a 16:9 screen and it also has fingerprint sensor below the display. It also has slim bezels but not as thin as in Mate 10 pro.

The Mate 10 Pro lacks headphone jack. This phone is also IP67 rated for water-resistance.

The Mate 10 comes with 18:9 OLED panel with an FHD+ resolution and Mate 10 has a 5.8-inch quad-HD 16:9 LCD display. Even if both displays are capable of displaying HDR content, the display of Mate 19 will offer a better experience. Both phones come with Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0. The company has also added an Artificial intelligence engine for Real-Time Scene and Object Recognition functionality.

Both phones are powered by Kirin 970 chipset. There is a dedicated i7 co-processor for neural network processing and Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. In Mate 10, you get 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage but the Mate 10 Pro offers 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The pro model does not offer microSD card slot. So, you cannot expand storage in this.

The camera setup is same in both the phones. These phones have dual camera setup with Leica lenses. The setup has 20-megapixel monochrome sensor and 12-megapixels RGB sensor. Both the sensors have f/1.6 aperture. Other camera features are PDAF, CAF, Laser AF, OIS and 4K video recording. At the front, these phones have 8 megapixels camera with f/1.6 aperture.
