India’s largest telecom operator Airtel is in talks with multiple mobile phone makers to make its cheap 4G smartphone a reality. The company is planning a Rs. 2500 smartphone to take on Reliance Jio’s JioPhone.
Jio’s JioPhone already saw the huge demand and people around the country want this Rs. 1500 featured phone. Airtel wants to offer people a smartphone with better features.

Airtel planning to bring this phone around Diwali. The company will also give bundled offers with data and voice plans to attract customers.
This phone is expected to come with a 4-inch display, 1GB RAM, rear camera, front camera, solid battery life and 4G VoLTE. Airtel is also planning VoLTE service roll out soon.

Reliance Jio started pre-bookings of JioPhone in August and already received 6 million pre-orders in just three days. It shows the demand for low-cost phones in India. So, Airtel does not want to lose any opportunity.
