Karbonn Mobiles launched a new smartphone Karbonn K9 Kavach 4G with pre-loaded BHIM app and fingerprint sensor for payment authentication. This is an entry-level 4G phone priced at Rs. 5290. It will be available from offline retail stores and through online channels starting from today.
Karbonn says that the UPI Payment integration on the phone is safe to use. The company also talked about the security benefits of the fingerprint sensor. The phone also features -KYC and Aadhaar authentication, Digilocker and e-Gov service access on OS level.
Karbonn K9 Kavach 4G comes with 5-inch HD display. It has 1.25GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB RAM. At this moment, we are not sure about the chipset.
The phone has 5 megapixels rear camera with LED flash and 5 megapixels front camera. It runs on Android 7.0. The phone comes with 8GB of storage that is also expandable up to 32GB.

The phone has fingerprint sensor with features like image capture, smart finger touch dialing and app lock. It has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, and GPS connectivity options. The phone has 2300 mAh Li-ion battery.
It will be available in Coffee Brown, Champagne and Black. The dimensions of the phone measure 146 x 75 x 9.6 mm. It weights 161.3 grams.
