Google’s new Triangle App Helps in managing data for individual apps

Triangle App

Google has quietly released a new mobile app Triangle to manage mobile data usage on your Android phone. The company is not releasing it globally and the app is only available in the Philippines. We can expect the wider roll out in coming days.

This app allows users to check their mobile data balance and see the data usage by individual app. If you do not want an app to use your mobile data, you can block its data access. t will also show you data-hogging apps to see if you can do something.

The app even offers more control by allowing the customization of data usage limit. You can allow an app to use data for 10 minutes at a time, 60 minutes or always.

The app will also show the prepaid mobile data balance on carriers like Globe and Smart. The carriers are also offering data rewards through Triangle app.

“Globe and Smart prepaid users: earn 100’s of extra MBs with data rewards from apps such as Mobile Legends and Waze, and more. Receive a 100MB welcome gift after completing registration,” Play Store description reads

Google started testing app back in April and few forums discussed the app. Now we just found the quite roll out.

Emerging countries where mobile data is still costly and people want to save data to keep the bill under control, this app will be very helpful. Even if India now has cheaper data rates after the roll out of Jio and reduced plans by other operators, I see the importance of the app. So, I guess Google will surely bring the app to India as well.

Triangle is now listed on Play Store in the Philippines. If you are in the Philippines. you can try this app.
