Android users can now enjoy Facebook videos outside of Facebook app

Facebook app for Android now allows users watch videos outside of the Facebook app. Facebook announced this feature along with few others back in February this year. Now, Facebook has started rolling out this feature to all Android users.

If you are watching a video on Facebook app, you will notice an icon at the top left side of the video player. Tapping on this icon will start playing video in Picture-in-picture mode. For the first time, it will also tell you about the feature and will ask you to enable this for better video experience.

If you have enabled this option, you will be able to watch video while scrolling the news feed. Even if you switch to any other app, the video will still be there on the top of the new app.

In few phones, it will also ask you to enable “Permit drawing over other apps” option.

You can drag this tiny floating video player to any of the four corner of the screen. Tapping on it opens the video on the Facebook app in full size.
