After launching Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus, now Motorola is working on Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus. These two new phones will be higher-end models in the Moto G lineup. Recently, we saw few image leaks and specs leaks. So, we now know many things about upcoming Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus. Keep it in mind that these are just rumors and we will have to wait for the official announcement to know confirmed specs.
Here is everything we know about Moto G5S and Moto G5S so far.
Recently, Android Authority leaked several photos of Moto G5S and Moto G5 S Plus showing the phone in gray, gold, and blue color options. So, we know how the phones will look.
Moto G5S is pretty similar to Moto G5. There is still a fingerprint sensor below the display. Above the display, it looks like it has front LED flash to help you capture good selfies in low-light. At the back side, it looks to have same rounded camera setup and Motorola dimple near the center of the device.
Moto G5S Plus also looks the same with the only notable difference is the presence of dual camera setup and dual-LED flash on the back. If this is true, Moto G5S will be the first dual camera phones from Moto. It looks a lot like Moto G5S in terms design and it is expected to be available in gold and gray color variants along with white face – silver back and white face – gold back versions.
Both phones will feature a full metal design as opposed to the aluminum back plate and plastic sides found in Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. So, the upcoming Moto phones will be more premium with all-metal construction.
If we talk about specifications, it will fit between the current Moto G5 line and the Moto Z line. So the pricing will also fall between these two lineups.
According to leaked slide, Moto G5S will get a 5.2-inch Full HD display. Moto G5S Plus will come with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display.
Reports suggested that Moto G5S Plus will come with 64-bit Octa-core processor. Possibly, it could include Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 660 or 630 Soc in these new phones. We have no idea of the RAM and storage configuration, but we are expecting phones to come with 3, or 4 GB of RAM, and 32, or 64 GB storage options. Both models will likely yo feature expandable storage.
Unfortunately, we do not have battery details of these phones. We are expecting the same batteries that were found in Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. So, Mot G5S and Moto G5S Plus will are expected to come with 2,800 mAh and 3,000 mAh.
Both phones should come with the latest version of Android, 7.1.2 Nougat. The software experience will be clean vanilla Android experience with the handful of Moto-specific features on top.
We just know that Moto G5S Plus will have dual camera setup and Moto G5S will have single rear camera setup. We have no information about camera sensor and megapixels count. Moto G5 Plus had good camera and we expect to get better camera experience with Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus.
Motorola is not dropping 3.5mm audio port. Both models are also expected to come with micro USB. Motorola does not seem to run after USB Type-C.
We have no idea when these devices will be released and what will be the cost. Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus are expected to be in the range of Rs. 17999 to Rs. 22999 depending on RAM/Storage configurations.
Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus both are available in India but these devices couldn’t do much due to the popularity of Redmi Note 4. Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus will be in different price segment, so Moto can expect something good.
