1. The Infinity display

Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with an edge-to-edge screen that is called “Infinity Display”. The phone is completely bezel less from sides and allows the company to put much larger display panel in the smaller shell. If you compare it with iPhone 7 Plus which has the 5.5-inch display in in a body that measures 158.2mm in height and is 77.9mm wide, Galaxy S8 offers 5.8-inch display in a body with 148.9mm height and 68.1mm width.

2. Multiple ways to unlock the phone

Samsung Galaxy S8 can be unlocked in six different ways. You have the conventional pattern, text, and pin locks. Along with these three, you also have options to unlock the phone using the fingerprint scanner, face recognition, and iris scanning.

3. Samsung Bixby

Samsung Bixby is Samsung’s own artificially intelligent virtual assistant. It has been deeply integrated into multiple apps to make your work easier. You have the option to perform most of the things just by using voice commands. Galaxy S8 or S8+ also come with a dedicated physical button to invoke Bixby. It responds to both touch and voice. It also comes with the ability to translate as many as 52 languages.

Good thing is that Samsung is not forcing users to use Bixby. You also have Google Assistant on both phones.

4. Bluetooth 5.0 and Bluetooth Dual Audio

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are the first two smartphones to come with Bluetooth 5.0. Bluetooth 5.0 offers 4 times longer range, double the speed and eight times broadcast message capacity.

These phones are also capable of streaming audio to two Bluetooth headsets or speakers at the same time. You can even adjust the volume levels of each device.

5. Samsung DeX

Samsung DeX is another notable feature of these phones. Now you have the option to use your phone as a computer by adding an external display, mouse, and keyboard. The hub to use Samsung Dex feature will be sold separately.

Samsung has also partnered with VMWare, Citrix, and Amazon to enable all three popular Windows 10 virtual desktop experiences on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. So, you can use these apps on big screen using Samsung Dex.

6. Haptic Feedback Engine

This time, Samsung has replaced the capacitive buttons with software navigation keys. The home button is in middle and offers Haptic Feedback Engine, similar to the iPhone 7’s 3D Touch. It gives noticeable feedback similar to actual clicking.

Both Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come with IP68 ratings. So, these phones are water resistant and dust resistant. Both devices can survive for 30 minutes in 5 meters of water.
