Today Lenovo added a new member in its K series of smartphones. Lenovo K6 Power is the new addition for the price of Rs. 9,999. This phone comes with full metal unibody build to give you premium design and offers nice specifications. This phone’s main attraction is Dolby atmos powered dual speaker and TheaterMax technology.

I spent few hours with the phone and based on my experience, here is the first impression.

Unlike most of the other phones in this price, this phone got the smaller size. It measures 141.9 x 70.3 x 9.3 mm and weight is 145 grams. This phone looks similar to Lenovo Vibe K5. It has the solid build and is quite comfortable. It has a power button and volume rockers on the right-hand side while the SIM removal tray is at the left side. It has micro USB and 3.5 mm audio hack on the top side. The below side got nothing except the primary microphone.

The rear panel has the rear camera, dual LED flash and fingerprint sensor. It also has dual speakers at the bottom side of the back panel.

In terms of design, this phone is good and solid. Its size makes it easy to carry and handle.

This phone has 5-inch Full HD IPS display with 178-degree viewing angle and 450 nits brightness. While I couldn’t spend enough time to test the display in the different environment, I found this pretty decent. It has good color reproduction to give you the desired video experience. Due to the Dolby Atoms speakers, you can even enjoy good sound without using the earphones.

It is powered Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 64-bit processor with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB RAM. Initial performance of the phone is good. With Lenovo’s Vibe UI based on Android 6.0.1 marshmallow, this phone is performing well. I am not sure about the long term usage, but this device is offering lag-free experience and good multi-tasking.

This phone has various software features, themes support, and gestures. This comes with the fingerprint sensor that can not only unlock the phone but also be used to unlock apps for better security. You can always use a pattern or pin lock alongside the fingerprint sensor.

Most notable software feature of the phone is the ability to provide you dual social media accounts. So, you can use two WhatsApp and Facebook on the same phone. This is quite useful for bloggers and people who are into social media marketing business.

Lenovo K6 Power

It has 13 megapixels rear camera with LED flash, PDAF, and Sony IMX258 sensor. It also has 8-megapixels front camera.

The camera app of the phone is light with various modes and settings options. You also get the pro mode. You can use it if you know how to use ISO, White Balance, Exposure manually. It also offers beauty mode to capture good selfie.

The camera offers decent experience and captures good selfie. I will be talking about the experience in the full review.

As I already said, this phone is known good for those who like a phone to enjoy movies, videos, and music. With Dolby Atmos-powered speaker, good display, and Theater Max technology, you will have a good experience.

It has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB OTG. This phone also supports VoLTE. It is the dual SIM phone but comes with hybrid slots. So, you can either use two sim cards or expand storage with one sim.

Lenovo K6 Power

It is packed with 4000 mAh battery that claims to offer 96.5 hours of music playback, 12.6 hours of web surfing, up to 13.6 hours of video playback, 27 days standby. There is also an ultimate mode to extend the battery for up to 3-4 times. In this mode, you only get the basic mobile phone features and you have the option to decide what three other apps you can use.

This phone also supports USB OTG reverse charging to charge other devices. I do not think this an advantage but you can still help you friends in case of emergency.

Final Words

This phone is powerful enough to give you good performance, but the phone is primarily for consumers who want a decent phone for multimedia consumption and normal usage. With large battery, the phone offers longer battery and Ultimate mode is something you will surely thank Lenovo for.

For Rs. 9999, this phone is the best deal. At this price, Coolpad Note 5 and Redmi Note 3 were popular selections for consumers. Now, Lenovo K5 Note has come to give them a tough competition.
