Facebook Flash is another attempt of Facebook to take on Snapchat

We all know that Facebook wanted to own Snapchat but couldn’t. After it lost hope of getting Snapchat, it started integrating Snapchat features into Messenger and other apps to attract Snapchat users. Now, it has launched a new app ‘Flash’ to take on Snapchat.

Over the past few years, Facebook created three different Snapchat clones and now it has launched a new one. This app has been launched for emerging markets where Snapchat has no notable market share. Snapchat is popular in United states but it has no user base in other countries.

This app is lightweight with just 25MB. It claims to be data efficient and also has support to offline mode. It offers Snapchat like features. It offers temporary messaging. So, Messages will disappear after sometime.

Flash allows users to add filters, masks, emojis, doodles and other such avatars to photos. Teenagers might find the app interesting to have fun while talking.

As of now the app is available for Android users only Brazil. It it gets good response, it will also come to other similar markets.

Snapchat has around 60 million daily users in US and Canada. But this app has no notable users base in Big countries like Brazil, India and Indonesia. Facebook wants to target these countries before Snapchat becomes popular here.
