Yesterday, Xiaomi announced its flagship phone Mi Note 2 and bezel-less display phone Mi Mix at an event in Beijing. Mi Note 2 looks a good alternate to Galaxy Note7 while Mi Mix the phone that most of the people will wish to own.
India is a big market for Xiaomi where it has so many loyal customers and fans. But Xiaomi’s VP Hugo Barra disappointed all those customers and fans by confirming that the company has no plans to launch these two smartphones in India.
Pricing may be the reason for that. In India, Xiaomi gets good response to its lower mid-range phones including smartphones of Redmi series. But its premium segment phones never get good response as people are not ready to pay more than Rs. 20000. This is the reason Mi 5 was also not a success for Xiaomi in India even if the phone was great.
Last year, the company did not bring first generation Mi Note and Mi Note Pro smartphones in India. It also never brought Ceramic back version of the Mi 5.
It is worth to note that Hugo Barra just said that the company has no plans. We wish to see changes in plan.
