Meizu has announced its new budget phone at an event in China. It comes in Mint Green, Glacier White, Champanage Gold, Sapphire Blue and Matte Black colors. It comes in two RAM/storage variants. The 2GB RAM with 16GB storage variant is priced at 699 Yuan while 3GB RAM with 32GB storage variant costs 899 Yuan. It is now available to order in China starting today.
Meizu M5 comes with 5.5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display. It runs on Yun OS 5.1 with FlyME OS 5.5. It is powered by Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750 (4 x 1.5GHz A53 + 4 x 1.0GHz A53) processor with Mali T860 GPU.
It will be available in 2GB RAM with 16 GB storage or 3GB RAM with 32 GB storage. Internal storage of the phone is also expandable up to 128GB with microSD card. It has Hybrid dual SIM, so you can either expand storage or use dual SIM.
It offers 13 megapixels rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture and 5P lens. It also has 5 megapixels front camera with f/2.0 aperture and 4P lens.
It also offers mTouch 2.1 fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button. It claims to unlock your phone in just 0.2 seconds. While most of the mid-range phone comes with metal unibody build, it has polycarbonate body.
It offers 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 LE and GPS / GLONASS connectivity options. It is packed with 3070 mAh battery.
As of now, the phone is only for Chinese market. The company also didn’t talk about global roll out.
