Google unveils Daydream View VR headset for $79

Google has officially announced Daydream View VR headset. This VR headset is compatible with newly announced Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. It is priced at just $79.

The headset and the Google Daydream platform will launch in November.

This VR headset is made of soft microfiber. Google claims that it has worked with clothing designers for the design. It comes in three colors: slate, snow, and crimson.

Notably, This headset connects wirelessly to the phone. It will come with a handheld controller for more immersive experience. As Google detailed at I/O, The controller will have three-degrees-of-freedom. The controller will also comfortably fit inside the headset.

Google also confirmed that more than 50 apps will be coming to VR platform by the end of the year and hundreds more are on the way.

Google has also partnered with Samsung, HTC, LG, Xiaomi, Huawei, ZTE, Asus, and Alcatel for smartphones that will be Daydream ready.
