CREO stops smartphone production, Will focus on Fuel OS only

CREO, Teewe creator, came into smartphone market back in March this year with CREO Mark 1. This phone was notable because it used its own Fuel OS based on Android and this OS promised amazing software experience with new features every month.

CREO Mark 1 was launched for Rs. 19999 and company also gave price cut of Rs. 6000 3 months after the launch. But, the company failed to get enough customers. Now, the company’s CEO and Co-Founder Sai Srinivas confirmed in an interview that the CREO has stopped smartphone production. The company is now only focusing on its Fuel OS.

We also tested CREO Mark 1 and found it a good device. But the only issue was its battery backup. The company used QHD display but lacks fingerprint sensor and battery backup was also not good. The company also had competition with notable phones including Moto X Play and OnePlus 2.

It should be noted that the company has kept its promise and provided monthly updated to users. While recent updates were not very big, now company is working on major software upgrades. The company will consider introducing new phones after they have more things in software to talk about.

We can also expect CREO to offer their software to other smartphone vendors. If they can make good software experience, providing it to other companies will be a good idea. We hope to see something soon from the company.

Sai also said that Mark 1 was intended not to take on big rivals but the company’s primary focus was to showcase its OS. They got success in that.

Sai Srinivas, CEO & Co-Founder, CREO said:

The idea was to build an always evolving OS with new features every month and take this experience to as many people as possible. Right from the start, the plan was to partner with other phone makers in the market. Very soon, you’ll hear about our partnerships in this regard.

CREO Mark 1 was a good and bold step from an Indian startup. Fuel OS was also good with its unique software features. While recent updates were very small, after this interview, we can expect more big features in coming months.
