Google has just made its search smarter to search the content within different apps installed on your device. Google calls this search model ‘In Apps’.
Google’s In Apps search indexes content of apps and allows you to search for contacts, messages, files and music in your phone. As of now, it works with apps like Gmail, Spotify and YouTube. So, you can easily search within your emails directly from Google search app on your phone. Google has confirmed to expand this feature with more apps like Facebook Messenger, LinkedIn, Evernote, Glide, Todoist and Google Keep.
While the content is available via Google search app, you do not need worry about your privacy. It is only available to you on your phone. You can also control what apps to appear in search. You can go to Google app on your Android phone and find the In Apps tab to change the settings.
LG V20 will be the first phone to come with the dedicated shortcut for In Apps mode. Along with searching in downloaded apps, LG V20 will also allow you to search for LG’s pre-installed apps.
LG V20 has yet to be announced. You can still use Google app on your Android phone to enjoy this new way of search.
LG V20 will be announced on September 6 and it will also be the first phone to come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
To remind you, CREO’s Fuel OS already had this feature.
