As expected, Samsung unveiled its new Gear Fit 2 fitness band and Gear Icon X cord-free or wireless earbuds. Samsung Gear Fit 2 has been priced at $179 and will be available starting June 10. On other hands, Gear IconX will go on sale beginning in Q3 2016. The price of gear IconX will be confirmed at that time.
Samsung Gear Fit 2
Samsung Gear Fit 2 comes with a 1.5-inch Curved Super AMOLED display and runs on Tizen OS. It tracks 15 different fitness activities including walking, squatting, yoga, treadmill and more. It comes with heart rate monitor and GPS. it can measure distance, pace, route, heart rate and calories burned. It is also dust and water resistant with IP68 rating.
It also comes with a standalone music player which allows you to transfer music between Gear Fit 2 and your smartphone with Samsung Gear app.
Materials used in designing this band include aluminum, polycarbonate and fiberglass. Screen is made from Gorilla Glass 3 and the strap from elastomer.
It is powered by a dual-core processor with 512 MB RAM. Internal storage of Gear Fit 2 is 4 GB. It supports all devices running on And roid 4.4 or higher with 1.5 GB RAM. It also has a 200 mAh battery to power it for long time. It has Accelerometer, Gyro, HRM, Built-in GPS, Barometer sensors.
It will come in Black, Blue and pink color options.
Gear Icon X
Samsung gear IconX is a fitness tracking headset to track calories burned, speed, distance and heart rate and provide data via voice guide even without smartphone.
It connects with your phone over Bluetooth to provide real-time heart rate data. Ti activate this device, you just need to place it in your ears. With a tap and hold of the touchpad on your earbud, you can launch activity tracking and starts receiving real-time updates.
It comes with Splash resistant nano coating. It also offers 4GB internal storage to save your music. Voice guides are available in 15 different languages. it is also compatible to devices running on Android 4.4 or higher with RAM up to 1.5 GB. It is packed with 47 mAh battery.
It also has a standalone music player to transfer music between Gear IconX and your smartphone with the Samsung Gear application.
