Asus ZenBook 3 Launched, called the “MacBook Killer”

Asus at the pre-Computex 2016 event, Zenvolution, unveiled a slew of products including the ZenBook 3. With a design quite reminiscent of the 12-inch MacBook Pro, the ZenBook 3 is more equipped in all possible ways. To find out how so, read on.

The ZenBook ditched the fanless design of the MacBook in favor of performance. Instead, it uses what Asus likes to call the world’s thinnest fan at 3mm. With slim bezels around the display, the Notebook is able to maintain a screen to body ratio of 82 percent.

The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and measures at 12.5 inches with a resolution of 1920X1080 pixels.

According to the company, the device is capable of providing around 9 hours of web browsing. The Notebook comes with fast charging capabilities, which can charge it to 60 percent of its capacity in just 49 minutes.

The dimensions of the NoteBook are mind boggling at 910 grams of weight and 11.9mm of thickness.

Like the retina MacBook, the ZenBook 3 features a USB Type-C port for charging and connectivity. However, Asus has included a dongle with USB 3.0, USB-C, and HDMI ports in the box and you can get more connectivity options with a larger universal dock, an addition not present with the MacBook.

Talking about the color options, the ZenBook 3 is available in three spun-metal finishes, Royal Blue, Rose Gold, and Quartz Grey.

The Notebook is expected to be made available in Q3 of 2016, with pricing starting at $999 for the base model with an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. The 512GB SSD model is priced at$1,499, whereas the top of the range Intel Core i7 model with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD will cost $1,999.
