Lenovo has upgraded its Lenovo K3 Note with the launch of its brand new device Lenovo K4 Note. This time, company has done more than just specs upgradation. Company has revamped the device in terms of design, specs and performance. This device is also a part of Lenovo’s vibe series of smartphones. In terms of design and specifications both, it impresses in first impression. We have already published our hands-on video on our YouTube Channel. You can also find the video at the end of this article. I was with the device for few hours to see what it brought for consumers an upgrade over Lenovo K3 Note.

We have just entered in 2016 and Lenovo has already created a buzz with its Killer Note ‘Lenovo K4 Note’. On papers, specs tells a lot about this device. But there is one thing for sure, it achieves lot more things what it claims. Company also claims that this device was not meant to jump in the specs war but offer a good user experience to consumers. With the pricing of just Rs. 11999, it wants to repeat the success of Lenovo K3 Note.

This time, company has improved the design by adding a metal frame. It not only improves the design but gives it a premium look. It comes with dual curves at the back along with rounded corners. It offers better grip and easy handling Back cover is also removable with back cover will be available in leather and wooden finish.

At the top side, it has only 3.5 mm audio output port but at bottom, there is a microUSB port. At the right side, you will find power button and volume rocker keys.

At back side, it has 13 megapixels rear camera along with dual-tone LED flash and fingerprint sensor below the rear camera. Fingerprint sensor works fast. I just check it for few minutes. I am not sure about long-term performance.

In terms of design, it brings improvements over Lenovo K3 Note. It is easy to handle and looks premium with metal frame.

It features a 5.5 inch full HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Display seems to be good for videos and gaming. 178 degree wide viewing angles are impressive. It brings dual front speakers with dolby atoms within the speakers to let you enjoy best class audio in this device.

It is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor with Mali-T720 GPU and 3 GB RAM. In initial usage, I found it good in terms of multi-tasking and performance. UI of the phone is also responsive. It runs on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop with light version of Vibe UI at top. This lighter version offers faster experience. You will also get an app-drawer. Few Lenovo branded apps are also there.

For storage, the Lenovo K4 Note comes with 16GB of onboard memory, out of which around 8GB is available to the end user. You can also expand storage up to 128GB. With support to USB OTG, you can take more storage with your device. Storage section of this phone is good enough.

In the camera department, Lenovo K4 Note looks impressive. This time, it comes with fast focus with PDAF. It comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera featuring an aperture of f/2.2. Dual-tone LED flash is also there for improved low-light performance. It also gets a 5MP snapper at front.

Camera capabilities of this phone are good. Camera app also offers various modes. With fast focus, you can quickly captue photos of any object. Dual LED flash works in low light. I took few camera shots which looked impressive.

It offers various connectivity features including 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC. Battery has also been improved this time. It features a 3300 mAh battery with support to fast charging technology.

Smartphone didn’t come alone. Lenovo also partnered with Skullcandy to launch ANDO earphones. This earphone is optimised for Lenovo’s smartphones, and will be available for Rs 1,299. Lenovo has also launched a VR headset with ANTVR. It will also be sold seperately for Rs. 1299. But if you buy the bundles package of VR headset and smartphone, you will get both things for Rs. 12499.

Overall this is a premium looking device packed with good configuration in this price range. It is surely a good upgrade to Lenovo K3 Note.
