Flipkart shipped Soap in place of Smartphone; Again

It’s not the first time this happened with online buyers. Bad experiences of customers with e-commerce companies is now becoming a common stories. Orders get lost or misplaced or damaged. There have been various stories where customers received stone or soap in place of their orders. This time, A Flipkart customer found a soap while he ordered a phone. An order of Mi 4i by Flipkart was changed into soap.

TechloMedia personally talked with the person to find out what really happened. According to the customer Mr. Garg, a resident of Shakarpur New Delhi, he ordered smartphone Mi 4i at his shop’s address. He heard many times that goods are replaced with stones, soaps etc. So, he asked delivery guy to open the order. Talking with us, he said, “normally, the delivery guys don’t let anyone open the order without payment and acceptance signature. So, After I received order, I ask him to open the packet in front of me.” At the same time a thought striked on his head and he started making video of it. After that what happen is in the below video:

After receiving soap instead of smartphone, he contacted Flipkart and told about this screwed thing. Flipkart acted quickly on this serious issue. Flipkart recognised issue and promised him to replace the order with smartphone within 5-6 working days.

Mr. Garg said, “Please, do warn people about such frauds.”

This phone was mi4i which is online exclusive and Flipkart itself ship it. So, there is nothing like sellers problem. Usually eCommerce giants try to escape by blaming it to sellers. This could be from Flipkart’s own warehouse or its delivery boys’ error. Delivery boy was also present at the time of unboxing the order. Flipkart didn’t blame it to others and quickly  responded on complaint.

Earlier in 2014, Laxminarayan Krishnamurthy, a resident of Mumbai, reported same complaint against Snapdeal, He opened a package and got bars of Vim soap and a brick instead of his new Samsung Duos smartphone. He posted about this on Facebook. Darshan Kabra, a resident of Pune, ordered two iPhone 4S units from Snapdeal December 2014 and he got pieces of woods. Although, issues are resolved by online retailers after that. There have been various other issues.

It is interesting to note that people record order unboxing. Somewhere in their mind, they are now afraid of these kind of accidental issues.
