Design and Display

It comes with similar design as in Lenovo A6000. It has a 5 inch HD display with front camera at the top. At the back, it has rear camera at the top left corner with LED flash just below the camera. It also has dolbey powered dual speakers at the bottom back. At the top side, it has microUSB port and a 3.5 mm jack for audio output. It is light in weight and backside is a kind if slippery. So, you need to be careful when you are holding the device.

Performance and Software

Performance of the device is impressive. It is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 415 processor with 2 GB of RAM. You will enjoy smooth performance in the device. It runs on Vibe UI 2.0 at the top of Android 4.4.4 kitkat which performs good. You will not feel lag in the device. Switching between different homescreen and among apps is smooth. So, you will enjoy good user experience in the device

VibeUI does not offer app drawer. So, you will see all the apps scattered in home screen. You can also arrange apps in the folders. Few folders are already there. It also comes with few apps pre-installed.

Storage

It comes in 16 GB internal storage which is further expandable up t0 32 GB. It offers 11.53 GB for users and around 4 GB will be occupied by system. Pre-installed apps also consumer around 800 MB of storage. You can also expand the storage via microSD card.

Camera

It comes with 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2 megapixel front camera. In the day light when you are at outdoor, both camera perform awesome. You can capture good photos. But in low light, photos are not pretty good. And you can see noise in pixels after zooming the photos taken in low light.

Front camera is just of 2 megapixel but it captures good quality of selfie photos. I added camera sample at the end of the article. you can check it there.

Note: Redmi 2 has slightly better camera performance.

Connectivity and Battery:

It offers 4G LTE connectivity along with all general connectivity options including 3G, Wi-FI, microUSB, Bluetooth and GPS. It is packed with 2300 mAH battery. Battery of the smartphone is average. It takes time in charging and will last only around a day in normal usage.  But frequent use of phone will use battery a lot and you will have to charge twice a day. SO, battery consumption is high in the phone.

PROS

  • Good performance
  • 2GB RAM

Cons

  • Average battery performance
