GTalk Server Outage, Google Confirmed (Update: It’s back)

Today, Google Talk server is facing some problem and users around the world are unable to use this chat service. I am also one of those users but i was cursing my internet services providers.

Google also confirmed the issue and started investigation at 4:20 PM IST. Google released a statement saying:

We’re aware of a problem with Google Talk affecting a majority of users. The affected users are able to access Google Talk, but are seeing error messages and/or other unexpected behavior. We will provide an update by 7/26/12 5:20 PM detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change.

After an hour of this statement, Google again posted a statement saying:

We are continuing to investigate this issue. We will provide an update by 7/26/12 6:20 PM detailing when we expect to resolve the problem.

Google is still working on the problem and trying to know the issue with the server. This is not the area specific outage. I can see tweets around the world. It seems that few areas have been recovered. But I am still unable to login into my Google Talk account.

Few minutes back Google again pushed an update saying:

Google Talk service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users in the near future. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change.
