Security researcher rewarded $60,000 for hacking Google Chrome

Google has announced $1,00,000 reward for finding security holes in Google chrome. Bow the first reward has been announced by the Google. Sergey Glazunov, Russian Security researcher has been rewarded $60,000 by hacking into Google Chrome web browser.

Security researcher has demonstrate how he could run unauthorized code on fully patched Windows 7 computers. He disclosed a remote code execution vulnerability in Google chrome web browser to run malicious code on the innocent computers just by visiting a website.

“Congrats to long-time Chromium contributor Sergey Glazunov who just submitted our first Pwnium entry. Looks like it qualifies as a “Full Chrome” exploit, qualifying for a $60k reward,” Sundar Pichai, senior vice-president at Google, posted on Google+.

“We’re working fast on a fix that we’ll push via auto-update. This is exciting; we launched Pwnium this year to encourage the security community to submit exploits for us to help make the web safer. We look forward to any additional submissions to make Chrome even stronger for our users.”

This is just a start but security researchers are working to crash Google chrome and find vulnerabilities. We can expect few more security holes in few more days.
