3 new Belle phones launched by Nokia


Nokia has launched the next version of the operating software (OS) – termed Belle – in Indian market. The company also announced three new phones – Nokia 701, Nokia 700 and Nokia 600 – that will come preloaded with Belle.

According to Nokia, Belle is the latest in a series of planned software updates to the Symbian platform, which started with Anna and will continue into 2012. Belle increases the number of home screens from three to six, providing more room for apps widgets. It also includes a pull down taskbar to access notifications and further enhancements to the Web browser.


The company said that
Nokia 701 is based on the Nokia C7 design. It has a 1GHz processor, an extra bright 3.5-inch display and 8MP full focus camera with dual LED flash and 2X digital zoom. The phone comes with 8GB internal memory along with support for microSD card up to 32GB. It has been priced at Rs 18,999.

Nokia 700, which too packs a 1Ghz processor, will go on sale at an MRP of Rs 18,099. Nokia 700 is a compact phone with a 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen, 2GB internal memory and 5MP camera with LED flash. The Finnish company claims that with a weight of just 96 grams, Nokia 700 is the most compact touchscreen phone in the world.

Nokia 600, which the company claims is its loudest phone, comes with 1GHz processor, 5MP camera with LED flash and 2GB of internal memory with option to expand it with a microSD card. It has an MRP of Rs 12,999.

Nokia says that all three phones come with near field communication (NFC) capabilities. According to the company, in addition to sharing content between devices, NFC allows any of the three new smartphones to pair with NFC-enabled mobile accessories such as speakers or Bluetooth headphones and headsets with just a single tap.
