Yahoo Launches Search Engine and Discovery Tool for Mobile Apps

Yahoo has many categories in regular search ex- web, images, news and many other categories. But today it has added a new category in search, Apps. This section is really useful for finding new applications for mobile devices such as iPhone and android phone. Yahoo writes, ” With 425,000-plus apps in the Apple App Store and 200,000 apps in Android Market, we know finding what you want can be exhausting. With 425,000-plus apps in the Apple App Store and 200,000 apps in Android Market, we know finding what you want can be exhausting”.
This is the first effort to make it easier to find mobile apps but it’s an interesting approach.

There are also lists of popular apps in three categories, Free, Paid, and Highest Rated. If you stumble upon an app that sounds promising, you can either scan the QR code for the app, get the link to the official marketplace to get it or have the link sent to your phone via SMS
