Nokia to become 3rd smartphone Maker this quarter

The latest analyst report suggest that Nokia is going to hit the 3rd place on the smartphone market this quarter. It was the top smartphone company some year ago and was at top by sales volume since a quarter ago. But this company is on the way to lose the top rank for this quarter for first time in 15 years.

“Nokia looks set to relinquish its smartphone crown to Samsung and Apple,” Nomura stated in a note to investors on Monday, a recent article on BGR reads.

However, it seems that Nokia will take the hit only in the smartphone area. It will remain the leading mobile phone maker in the world, courtesy of its strong position in emerging markets, the research firm noted.

In February this year, Nokia announced plans to bring handsets powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system to the market, and to leave Symbian aside.

Nokia should have to take strong but effective decisions. Otherwise company will have to face trouble in future. Samsung is growing fast in smartphone and featured phone market. Nokia is loosing both customers and revenue. India is a big market for Nokia but Samsung is now growing fast and is about to beat Nokia.
